A Meeting Reflecting the Depth of the Brotherly Lebanese-Jordanian Relations
At the invitation of the Chairman of AMACO Group, Mr. Ali Mahmoud El Abdallah, and his wife, the Al Abdallah residence in Akkar hosted His Excellency the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Jordan to the Lebanese Republic, Mr. Walid Al Hadid, and his wife, in a cordial gathering that reflected the depth of the friendship, affection and mutual respect between the two sides. The meeting was attended by a large number of political, religious, municipal and social figures.
The gathering was attended by Their Excellencies Members of Parliament Walid Al-Baarini, Jimmy Jabbour, Mohammad Yahya and Ahmad Rostom; Head of the Islamic Endowments Department in Akkar, Dr. Sheikh Malek Jadida; former President of the Beirut Bar Association and member of the Islamic Sharia Council, Mohammad Al-Mourad; representative of Dar Al-Fatwa, Sheikh Khaled Ismail; Head of the Zakat Fund in Akkar, Mr. Osama Al-Zoubi; Head of the Jouma Municipalities Union and Mayor of Rahbeh, Adnan Melhem; Head of the Central and Coastal Qaytaa Municipalities Union and Mayor of Barjaqil, Abdel Rahman Al-Hassan; Head of the Nahr Al-Asfour Municipalities Union and Mayor of Kouaykhat, Omar Al-Hayek; Chairman of the Lebanese-Saudi Business Council in Jeddah, Eng. Mohammad Bashar Al-Abdallah, and his wife; Mayor of Tikrit, Dr. Hala Al-Abdallah; Mayor of Qlayaat, Dr. Abdel Razzaq Khashfeh; Hajj Ahmad Abdo Al-Baarini; Mr. Fadi Barbar; former member of the Islamic Sharia Council, Hajj Ali Tlais; Brigadier General Khaled Al-Husseini and his wife; Dr. Wissam Mansour; Mr. Ahmad Al-Haddam, member of the Akkar Spiritual Gathering; Director of the official Tikrit Vocational Institute, Eng. The gathering opened with a welcoming speech delivered by the Head of the Islamic Endowments Department in Akkar, Dr. Sheikh Malek Jadida, who welcomed His Excellency Ambassador Walid Al-Hadid and his wife, considering that this visit embodies the depth of the brotherly relations between Lebanon and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. He praised the Kingdom's leading role in promoting the values of moderation, wisdom and openness, as well as its Arab and Islamic standing under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II. He also praised Ambassador Al-Hadid's personality, describing him as an “ambassador of love, brotherhood and thought,” in recognition of the wisdom and sophistication he demonstrates in his diplomatic work. He emphasized that Akkar has been and will remain a land of dignity, patriotism and Arab belonging, and a welcoming host for gatherings that strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and rapprochement among the people of Lebanon and their Arab brothers.
The gathering was followed by a luncheon in a warm and friendly atmosphere, reflecting the depth of the human and brotherly relations among those present.
Following lunch, the delegation toured the Bino Natural Pond and Reserve, where they were welcomed by the Head of the Jouma Municipalities Union and Mayor of Rahbeh, Mr. Adnan Melhem, and the Mayor of Bino, Dr. Carol Fares. They provided an overview of the reserve, its environmental importance, and the rich history and cultural heritage of the town of Bino.
The delegation then proceeded to the Qammoua – Al-Ozr Forest area, where they were welcomed by the Head of the Tourism Committee and former Mayor of Fnaydek, Hajj Ahmad Abdo Al-Baarini. They explored the area's remarkable natural beauty, lush forests and ancient trees, which are considered among Akkar's most prominent environmental and tourist attractions. His Excellency the Ambassador and his wife expressed their great admiration for the beauty of the area, its magnificent natural scenery and pleasant climate, praising the tourism and environmental assets that Akkar possesses and which deserve greater attention and recognition.
At the conclusion of the gathering, Mr. Ali Mahmoud Al Abdallah and his wife expressed their sincere thanks and appreciation to His Excellency Ambassador Walid Al-Hadid and his wife, as well as to all those who attended the invitation. They wished the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, its leadership and people, continued progress and prosperity, and wished for further cooperation and closer ties between Lebanon and Jordan.
